In the silence

This song started in the silence. In that time of year when winter slows everything down and you turn inward, and then little by little something arrives, a bit of warmth, a connection, something that opens you back up to the world.
That’s what “In the Silence” is about, stepping out of winter’s quiet, the warmth you find through love, and finally arriving into spring together. Aïrunlaïr’s voice carries the whole song, it’s what takes the story from silence to spring.
There’s a part of it I really love. Hidden in the middle of the track is an old baroque melody that a lot of people know as Bach’s minuet (even though it’s actually Christian Petzold’s Minuet in G, haha), and I tried to bring it back to life through the pulse and energy of trance. I loved the idea that something which moved people to dance centuries ago could set something in motion again, and tie the old to the new.
Let the song carry you, out of winter’s silence to the place where spring is already shining for both of us.
